If you are a runner who wants to raise awareness of epilepsy, we encourage you to join our e-RACER Charity Fundraising Team and help erase the stigma related to epilepsy. e-RACERS can be serious or casual runners, youth or adults who dedicate at least one race to raise funds in support of the Epilepsy Association.

As an e-RACER, you can compete in as many races as you’d like and of any distance (5K, 10K, Marathon, etc.) you prefer during the fundraising period from March 26 (Global Epilepsy Awareness Day) through Oct. 31.

FAQ

How do I join the e-RACER Charity Fundraising Team and what do I need to do?

To join the e-RACER team, simply click the registration link on this webpage. Once you’ve registered you can create your own personalized e-RACER fundraising page and invite your friends, family and co-workers to support your running efforts. Register Do I have to run a certain number of races or raise a certain amount of money? We ask each e-RACER to run at least one race between 3/26/13 and 10/13/13, but we encourage you to run as many races as you can. And while there is no minimum amount of funds required to be raised, any e-RACER who raises $150.00 or more will become an elite team member and earn the coveted e-RACER short sleeve, technical running shirt to wear during races. As the number of elite team members grows, so does our presence at races, thus making the community more aware of the Epilepsy Association and our services.

Will there be prizes?

The e-RACERs who run the most miles and who raise the most funds between 3/26/13 and 10/31/13 will earn prizes at the end of the competition including the grand prize of two complimentary tickets each to the Annual Epilepsy Association Gala on Friday, November 8, 2013. To qualify for the most miles raced prizes, we ask that you raise a minimum of $150. What races should I run? Each e-RACER chooses the race(s) they want to run. As long as it’s an organized running or walking event, it qualifies as an e-RACER fundraising event. And because each e-RACER self-reports their races, the races can be run anywhere in the world.

e-Racer Team Events

The following races have been designated as official e-RACER Charity Fundraising Team races. These races are not required. We simply want to provide opportunities for e-RACERs to get together. The goal is to get many of the e-RACER team to run them together – wearing their elite team shirts – to create an e-RACER presence at each race. Mark your calendars and join us.
