Virtual Runner
2010 Annual Virtual Runner CompetitionMake your miles count even more ... Click Here to Register for the Virtual Runner Competition Today! Competition Begins August 1, 2010 Competition Ends October 31, 2010 What is the Virtual Runner? The Epilepsy Association's Virtual Runner initiative will be held August 1 through October 31, 2010. Virtual Runners set a race miles goal and solicit donations on-line to support services for children and adults who have epilepsy. Any race you choose to participate in, whatever the cause, during this time period may be counted for miles. Races can be held anywhere in the world and are not limited those in the Cleveland, Ohio area. How do I earn a t-shirt?Runners raising $100 or more, become Epilepsy Association Elite Runners and will receive a team t-shirt. The t-shirts are technical grade running shirts sporting the Virtual Runner Logo. Let everyone know that you are making your miles count even more by wearing your Elite Runner T-shirt to your races. How do I raise donations? We recommend using your on-line donation tools found in your Participant Center. Start by emailing friends, family members, business contacts and every one who owes you one! Becoming an Elite Runner is simple. Just ask 10 people to donate $10. Credit card donations can be made on-line or checks can be mailed to the Epilepsy Association at 2831 Prospect Ave, Cleveland OH 44115-2606. Make checks payable to the Epilepsy Association. Please include the Virtual Runner’s name when mailing a check, so we can credit the gift properly. How do I submit the miles I ran? Each week, we ask you to log on to your participant center and complete the race log survey. Only miles submitted on-line through the survey will be counted in the competition. All organized races and trail runs during the competition period count toward your mileage. Competition begins 8/1/2010 and ends 10/31/2010. Are there Prizes?Prizes will be awarded to the runners with the highest mileage in two age groups: runners age 18 and over, and runners age 17 and under (age as of August 1, 2010). Prizes will be awarded to the top fundraiser and to the runner who reports the most race miles. These runners will receive a water resistant jacket. Winners 18 years and older will also recieve 2 Gala tickets. The Epilepsy Association Gala is on Friday, November 12, 2010 at the Cleveland Ritz-Carlton. |
