RESOURCES FOR RESPITE CARE/EDUCATIONAL


"Respite" refers to short term, temporary care provided to people with disabilities in order that their families can take a break from the daily routine of care giving. Respite care is important to give families time to relieve the stress experienced in caring for a child with a disability.

PEP serves children and youth who have been diagnosed with a serious emotional disturbance, are involved with two or more Cuyahoga County child-serving systems (ex. Department of Children & Family Services, Juvenile Court, Board of MR/DD, etc.), and are at risk of removal from their families or are returning to their families from placement. Your child can be referred to PEP by any Cuyahoga County child-serving system, your physician, or your school.
